GTECH G2 Makes Land-Based Deal in Romania

GTECH G2 has recently entered into a deal with Lottomatica that will lend its online gambling software to over 400 betting cafes in Romania. This is a landmark deal for the company, and could lead to more business opportunities in the interactive gaming market.

The software development for the deal only took three months to complete. Now, GTECH G2 is ready to install its new end-to-end gambling and sports betting software in one of what will become 400 betting cafes across the country. The new software will include the processing of sportsbetting transactions, risk management, marketing and odds making.

By the end of 2010, there will be 400 Bet Arena Cafes in Romania. They will be focused mostly on football betting, including European leagues, American leagues and international tournaments. Sportsbetting has become increasingly popular among the country’s football fans and it will be interesting to see how this fares for GTECH G2.

Coupled with Bet Arena’s widespread presence in Romania and GTECH G2’s innovative software, the partnership could be very successful in the newly lucrative gambling market. It was a wise decision to break into Romania’s gambling industry. While online casino operators continue to compete for spots in France’s gambling market, setting its sights on the underrated Romanian market will prove to be a far more successful business venture for GTECH G2.
