Future of Online Gambling is Video Game Betting

In the online casino world, players can place bets on just about every type of event, from political elections to awards shows. It seems almost careless than no one has launched an online gambling service for video game tournaments – but that is about to change, with a new innovation by a young business man from British Columbia, Canada.

With sophisticated gaming systems like the XBOX 360 and the PS3, players from all over the world can compete from remote locations while playing sports, action and skill video games. While the experience is exciting, in itself, Francisco Diaz-Mitoma, felt that adding wagering into the mix would add an extra edge. The new innovation combines large, land-based video game competitions with the at-home Xbox Live service to create a brand new online casino service that is sure to change the industry.

The prize pool is created by all players participating, who can contribute anywhere from $5 to $100. Then, the winner of the tournament takes home the grand prize! There are many safeguards in place, as well, so as to ensure that players do not cheat. All players must undergo preliminary rounds to test their skills, as all matches must be equally matched. There are also strict limits placed on age and deposit amounts.

While the system sounds simple, a great deal of time, effort and money are required to make this dream a reality. It is currently being developed and is predicted to be on the market by 2011.
